Synopsis

Continues the story of Wind Breaker

In the story of Wind Breaker, Haruka Sakura has spent much of his youth isolated because of his unique appearance and difficulty connecting with others. Despite these challenges, he developed exceptional fighting skills, which became his primary source of self-worth. Upon enrolling at Furin High School, a place known for valuing physical strength over academic success, Sakura aims to become its undisputed leader. On the eve of his school's opening, Sakura gets caught in a street fight and meets some of his future classmates. Instead of rejecting him, they fight alongside him, revealing that the school's true purpose is protecting the town of Makochi. Because of this, the students call themselves "Bofurin." Initially confused by the community's acceptance and appreciation, Sakura struggles to embrace this newfound sense of belonging. As he navigates this unfamiliar kindness, Sakura must face his discomfort while Bofurin battles powerful enemies. Through this experience, he learns the value of fighting to protect others, marking a major shift in his perspective.

During the second season of Wind Breaker, Haruka Sakura—now a member of Furin High School's Bofurin, which is committed to protecting Makochi—has grown from a skeptic into a leader among his classmates. As a first-year grade captain, Sakura begins to build trust and fight alongside his fellow students, gradually overcoming his past tendency toward isolation. When Sakura and his grade-level comrades confront KEEL, a ruthless gang that uses extreme violence and intimidation, they realize the group's rapid rise and overwhelming numbers hint at a much greater threat. Outnumbered and struggling, Sakura comes to understand that to safeguard Makochi, he must accept his own weaknesses and lean on the support of his upperclassmen.

Wind Breaker Season 2 aired on MBS and TBS' Super Animeism Turbo block. The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in six volumes from June 18, 2025, to November 26, 2025.
