Tenpou Suikoden Neo

Synopsis

Drawing inspiration from an old Japanese tale that itself was adapted from the classic Chinese novel Suikoden (Water Margin), this anime reimagines the original narrative. While the source material features a large group of outlaws granted amnesty by the government to combat foreign invaders and rebels, the Tenpou Suikoden Neo version shifts the setting to Tonosho, a town in Chiba Prefecture. The story centers on the chivalrous battles of Sasagawa no Shigezou and Iioka Sukegorou.
