Synopsis
In the Matsuno household live six nearly identical brothers: Osomatsu, the self-centered leader; Karamatsu, the manly one; Choromatsu, the sensible sibling; Ichimatsu, the pessimist; Juushimatsu, the energetic brother; and Todomatsu, the charmer. Though all are over 20, they remain idle and jobless, living as NEETs. On the rare occasions they manage to secure a job interview, their peculiar traits almost always result in instant rejection. As they pursue romantic relationships and try to find suitable careers, the Matsuno brothers' days are filled with unpredictable and often absurd adventures. Despite genuinely wanting to improve their social standing, that goal stays out of reach unless they can overcome the many challenges that come with being sextuplets.
Background
Osomatsu-san was made to commemorate the 80th birthday of the series' late original creator, Fujio Akatsuka. A parody of Anpanman, a popular kids anime, in the third episode was reanimated following complaints to the network, while the first episode, due to the fact that it contained multiple parodies, has been pulled entirely from streaming sites and the Japanese Blu-Ray release.
