Synopsis
The experimental anime series Ad Lib Anime Kenkyuujo (Ad Lib Anime Laboratory) stars Emiri Katou and Kaori Fukuhara, the voice actresses renowned for playing the Hiiragi twins in Lucky Star. Katou takes the role of Chief Researcher No. 001, Fukuhara plays Chief Researcher No. 002, and each week a guest researcher joins them. The show premieres on the satellite channel BS Fuji on October 15. Its production flips typical anime methods: the performers improvise the entire script from scratch for each episode, and then animators create footage based on that ad-libbed dialogue—instead of the usual process where voice actors record lines for pre-existing scripts and animation.
