Synopsis
Continues the story of My Dress-Up Darling
In high school, Wakana Gojou dedicates himself to mastering the art of crafting hina dolls, hoping to eventually equal his grandfather's mastery. While his peers are consumed by popular culture, Gojou finds joy in designing costumes for his dolls, a pastime he conceals due to a fear of ridicule. His quiet world is upended by Marin Kitagawa, a stunning and self-assured girl whose popularity and confidence starkly contrast with Gojou's shy, reclusive nature. Despite their differences, fate brings them together when Kitagawa uncovers Gojou's exceptional sewing abilities and shares her own enthusiasm for cosplay. Struggling with needlework herself, she requests his assistance. As they collaborate on various cosplay projects, Gojou and Kitagawa overcome the divide between their disparate lives, slowly forging a deep connection.

In My Dress-Up Darling Season 2, Marin Kitagawa continues to draw Wakana Gojou deeper into the world of cosplay, where he has become increasingly skilled at crafting her costumes. Despite his progress, much remains for him to learn, and each new project further fuels his passion for sewing and making hina dolls, a traditional craft inherited from his grandfather. Simultaneously, Kitagawa finds herself struggling to conceal her growing feelings for Gojou. Their frequent interactions often lead friends and acquaintances to assume they are a couple, a notion that makes Gojou uneasy. He believes their vastly different lifestyles render a romantic relationship unlikely. However, as Gojou spends more time with Kitagawa and realizes that his hobbies are met with acceptance rather than ridicule, the possibility of a relationship begins to feel less impossible.
