Chu Feng, a common outer disciple of the Azure Dragon School, encounters one of the rare nine lightning beasts and discovers a sealed egg inside his body. The story follows Chu Feng as he starts his path of cultivation.

In "Martial God Asura 2," Chu Feng, an ascendant talent from Qingzhou, accompanies Qinglong Sect Master Li Changqing to the Hundred Sects Conference, the foremost gathering in the region. There, he comes into conflict with the formidable Lingyun Sect Master Yan Yangtian, sparking a long-standing feud. Unknown to Chu Feng, the conference is not merely a contest but a sinister scheme orchestrated by Yan Yangtian. As Chu Feng grows stronger, he masters both golden and blue divine thunder. Yet this emerging power inadvertently rouses the dormant Ice and Fire Pearls, placing his companions Su Rou and Su Mei in danger when they try to aid him. Determined to rescue his friends, Chu Feng ventures through the Ten Thousand Demons Mountain to free the Purple-Robed World Spiritist and the Demon Monkey King, while also helping the Su siblings. Along the way, he meets Jiang Wushang, a youth of imperial blood, and reunites with Zi Ling, a girl blessed with a divine body and a mysterious past. He also encounters Zhang Tianyi, his respected senior from the same sect and founder of the Winged Alliance. With steadfast support from Dandan, Zi Ling, Jiang Wushang, Zhang Tianyi, and others, as well as his own growing might, Chu Feng obtains the Shura Ghost Axe, liberates the Demon Monkey King, saves Su Rou and Su Mei, and reveals Yan Yangtian's deceit. His actions ultimately shift the balance and end the crisis in Kyushu. Seeking the truth about his own origins, Chu Feng then sets sail for the vast Eastern Sea.
