Continues the story of Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children
Setsuna Kai relocates to a new city because of family circumstances, planning to live alone in an apartment. The moment he arrives, a strange shower of stones plummets down, and he just barely avoids being flattened by a gigantic boulder. His new apartment, however, is not as fortunate—a second colossal rock utterly demolishes it. Overwhelmed with despair and unsure what to do, Setsuna is met by a scientist named Hiromi Kaname. Dr. Kaname's instruments apparently reveal that Setsuna is a "Devil Child," prompting the scientist to bring Setsuna to the lab.

In the year 200X, three childhood friends named Jin, Akira, and Lena share a fascination with the mysterious. While at the library alongside the enigmatic transfer student Ami, they come across the "Akuma Compendium." Reciting an incantation from the book, they are astonished when devils materialize. Ami reveals to Jin and Akira that they are the Devil Children destined to determine the fate of the world, and hands them their Devil Risers. The group then steps through the "Door of Time" into the realm of Valhalla, where they must confront an evil ruler named Imperius, who aims to conquer all worlds. Jin's nakama is Rand, a Sol Lion, while Akira's is Gale, a Hylon.
