Synopsis

In "Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War," Ichirou Satou, an ordinary high school student, once spent his middle school years dreaming of being a hero called "Maryuuin Kouga," which made him a frequent target of bullying. He has since left that phase behind and now seeks a quiet, uneventful life, even though he finds the world uninspiring. One evening, while going back to school to retrieve a forgotten textbook, he comes across a girl dressed in an unusual costume. This girl is his classmate, Ryouko Satou, who, like him, has a delusion of being someone else and dresses accordingly. When Ichirou's teacher asks him to befriend Ryouko, he refuses, not wanting to revisit his own past struggles. However, after seeing Ryouko face the same kind of bullying he once endured, he feels compelled to help her and assist her in overcoming her delusions—embarking on a mission worthy of Maryuuin Kouga.
