Synopsis
Kanashiki Debu Neko-chan follows Maru, a cat taken in by Anna from a shelter in Matsuyama city. Under the family's care and plentiful meals, Maru slowly becomes overweight and passes most of his days resting near the window, looking out at the garden. His satisfaction turns to envy when the family brings home a new cat named Cerisier and gives it plenty of affection. After a fight with Cerisier, Maru is stung by the family's harsh words and takes the advice of another cat, deciding to leave and discover what lies beyond.
