Synopsis
Mazu was different from ordinary people from the moment she was born; she stayed calm and peaceful, watched over by a primordial spirit. A huge jellyfish-like monster rose from the sea to attack the infant Mo Niang, but the spirit intervened and drove it away. In the chaos that followed, the jellyfish knocked over a candle, setting the curtains ablaze. Though the fire was quickly extinguished, the incident left Mo Niang with a deep-seated fear of flames.
