
Synopsis
A short film screened exclusively at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. This piece serves as a mini-sequel to the film My Neighbor Totoro. On a very windy day, Mei is eating a caramel when suddenly a whirlwind appears and begins chasing her. The whirlwind turns out to be a baby cat bus. Mei offers the kitten a caramel, and the two become friends. That night, the baby cat bus visits Mei. Letting Mei ride inside him, he leaps out into the sky. They head for the midnight forest, which is full of ghosts. Other cat buses, both large and small, have also gathered there. In the forest, Mei encounters...
Background
Mei to Koneko Bus is a short animated film exclusively shown at the Ghibli Museum since 2002. The film was briefly shown in the United States to celebrate the North American release of Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi in 2006.
