Synopsis
Mari Hayase is looking for her father, Eiji, a scientist who vanished three years ago, leaving her only a pendant known as the armillary compass. After Mari comes across a peculiar book, the compass starts to glow, sending her hurtling backward through time. Assisted by her close friend Waka Mizuki and Waka's brother Shun, Mari sets off on a journey through different eras to locate her father, meeting famous scientists whose breakthroughs shaped our understanding of magnetism and electricity.
Background
Time Travel Shoujo is based on a 1983 book titled Jishaku to Denki no Hatsumei Hakken Monogatari by Japanese educator Kiyonobu Itakura. It is part of the Hatsumei Hakken Monogatari Zenshuu series which describes the story of various scientific discoveries and inventions throughout history. The 1983 book focuses on discoveries related to magnetism and electricity.
