Synopsis
Using a mix of cut-out and hand-drawn animation, Tanaami blends symbols of American consumer culture—Coca-Cola, Superman, Space Age astronauts, hamburgers—with Japanese elements like a squat toilet. The fast-paced animation, paired with an audio track of jingles and slogans, and a recurring hand-drawn CRT television frame around the visuals, all mimic the look of TV ads.
