My Sister Momoko

Synopsis

In "My Sister Momoko," Momoko attends a special school because of her mental and physical disabilities. Each morning, she grows frustrated that she cannot go to the regular school with her identical sibling, Riki. To comfort her, her family sings her favorite song, "The Song of Frogs." During an open classroom day, Momoko cheers for Riki in a dodgeball match, and his team wins. Ryuji, a player from the opposing side, reacts badly and tells Riki to stop bringing his "idiot sister." Enraged, Riki loses his temper and punches Ryuji. The next year, an integrated education program allows Momoko to join Riki's school. However, her health worsens, and she is hospitalized. Determined to lift her spirits, Riki and his classmates plan to win a relay race and dedicate the victory to her. But the team's fastest runner, Ryuichi, refuses to participate.
