Synopsis
An isolated exchange student encounters a dancer and falls deeply in love. She descends into madness upon learning that her lover intends to return home to build his future. The restless wanderings of youth unfold against the backdrop of 19th century Berlin. This Ga-nime adaptation of MORI Ogai's classic Meiji-era novel "Maihime (The Dancing Girl)" is helmed by OKU Shutaro, producer of "School Girl", who demonstrates his artistic prowess, with FURUYA Akisa handling the booklets, slide shows, and animation. Set in a foreign land, the story's all the pathos and poetic emotion of this elegant tale are brought to life by a refreshing wind of artistic imagery.
