Synopsis
Kakera takes its inspiration from the opening part of Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen, which describes a catastrophe caused by advances in technology and machines. This idea mirrors the real-life nuclear plant disaster that took place in Japan in 2011. Tsuji’s animation seeks to merge the classic fairy tale with this modern tragedy through a woven narrative structure.
