Synopsis
While attempting to read the celestial scripture, Taoist Cui accidentally releases a golden toad that seeks treasure. Driven by a desire for worldly riches, the toad is reborn as Dou Zhanlong. To avoid heavenly punishment, the golden toad scatters Dou Zhanlong’s three souls and seven spirits into his spiritual cavity, creating nine clones that exist across multiple parallel worlds and timelines. Whenever one clone perishes, another appears, resulting in a cycle of nine deaths and thirteen tribulations. The story begins with the first incarnation of Dou Zhanlong.
