Synopsis

Long ago, the world was plagued by demons under the control of the evil dragon Diabolos, and these demons were savage. However, fourteen years ago, Diabolos was vanquished by Zard, a boy hailed as a hero at just seven years old. He subdued the demons and restored peace to the world. But four years later, Diabolos was revived, and the demons once again began attacking the world. Zard set out to fight Diabolos once more, but never returned... In the year 4996, Kai, Zard's closest friend, embarked on a journey to see if what Zard had said about humans and demons coexisting was possible. Along the way, he meets Izayoi, a peculiar boy who can communicate with demons through his heart, and Gend, a brown-skinned swordsman who appears to be a survivor of the Dark Elf race. Kai comes to realize that perhaps they are the key to achieving coexistence between humans and demons, leading him to travel alongside them.
