Synopsis
Humanity's golden age has long vanished, leaving behind only ruins where society and science now struggle to reconstruct themselves. They rely on scavenging fragments of knowledge from incomprehensible ancient artifacts that defy understanding. These relics of the "Old World" can bring immense fortune to those who discover them, provided they survive the deadly ancient security systems and rogue bioweapons guarding them. Akira, a young street orphan, decides to become a relic hunter to flee his brutal existence in the slums. Untrained, malnourished, and ill-equipped, Akira would be fortunate to return from the ruins alive at all—until a chance meeting with Alpha, a mysterious, ghostly woman, alters his destiny. Alpha requires a hunter and is prepared to train Akira to fill that role. Will her guidance be sufficient to help a penniless slum dweller rise to the top of a crushing, merciless world?
