Synopsis

Under the starry sky on a childhood camping trip, Kasumi Toyama felt the "Star Beat"—an intense, rhythmic pulse that stirred her deeply. Ever since, she has been searching for a way to relive that thrilling moment. Transferring to Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, Kasumi keeps looking for that unforgettable excitement. She tries out various school clubs and even considers a part-time job, but nothing clicks. One day, she finds a star-patterned guitar in the back room of an old music shop. This discovery leads her to a live music venue, where she sees her first performance and becomes fascinated. Driven by the rush, Kasumi impulsively decides to form a band, even though she is not sure why. With challenges and help from new friends, she works to find that bright, heart-pounding feeling again.

Background

BanG Dream! is a part of the "BanG Dream!" multimedia franchise, which was developed by Bushiroad in January 2015. The franchise also released a mobile rhythm game, titled BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! for iOS and Android, which was developed by CraftEgg and published by Bushiroad. The Japanese version was released in March 2017, and the English version in April 2018. As of July 30, 2018, the game has surpassed 10 million downloads worldwide.
