Synopsis

After humans defeated the alien Usurpers using combat androids called Neans, they settled on Mars and entered a peaceful era. Once vital as fighters, Neans now fill low-status roles as laborers and second-class citizens under human authority. They must drink Nectar daily, a substance supplied by their human masters. Within this social order, Proto-Neans are unique androids able to generate metallic exoskeletons granting them immense power. Rouge Redstar, a Proto-Nean, secretly works for Aletheia—the government agency that oversees Nean activity—alongside her human partner, Naomi Orthmann. Their mission is to hunt down the Immortal Nine, a group of Proto-Neans whose hostility toward humans is not yet understood. Meanwhile, an investigator arrives on Mars looking into a series of murders, and Rouge becomes the prime suspect. As Rouge and Naomi delve into the Immortal Nine, they discover startling truths about both the rogue androids and the organization they answer to.

Background

Metallic Rouge was produced to celebrate Bones' 25th anniversary. The series was released on Blu-ray on August 2, 2024.
