Hakugei: Legend of the Moby Dick

Synopsis

In the year 4699, a brave young person embarks on a high-tech journey to find the only individual who can save Earth from the universe's most fearsome beast, the great white whale Moby Dick. But tracking down the fugitive Captain Ahab and his elusive crew of whalers to convince them to end the leviathan's long reign of terror is an enormous challenge. The critical question is whether Ahab will rise to this challenge one more time.

Background

The series was temporarily cancelled after episode 18 due to issues with production quality and the production company's bankruptcy. The series production was transferred to Tezuka Productions and began reairing in October 1998.
