Synopsis

Jouji Ema escapes the monotony of daily life by mentally noting every kawaii thing he comes across, but this proves challenging at his single-gender school, until he notices his classmate Miyoshi Hayashi. Following a mishap during the sports festival, Hayashi begins to shadow Ema, persistently questioning whether Ema finds him appealing. Despite Hayashi’s direct yet innocent nature, Ema finds himself intrigued by his unique personality. In another storyline, Yuuichi Medaka's academic year takes a negative turn when he is seated directly behind Akira Nikaidou, a gloomy student with a reputation for cursing those who offend him. To avoid any misfortune, Medaka attempts to befriend Nikaidou, though his efforts initially fail. However, just as he is about to abandon hope, Medaka uncovers signs suggesting that Nikaidou might not be as ominous as the rumors suggest.
