In "Papuwa-kun: The Southern Boy," Papuwa-kun lives a quiet life on a tiny island in the South Pacific with his dog, Chappy, until Shintaro arrives while fleeing from gangsters, disrupting their tranquility. Their rivalry begins when Chappy steals Shintaro's precious Jewel. Despite their conflicts, the two end up embarking on a string of strange and extraordinary adventures together.

Four years after the events of the first series, this sequel picks up. A mysterious boy named Papuwa-kun lives on a new tropical island populated by the same bizarre creatures. Together with his maid Liquid and his friend Rotarou, who suffers from amnesia, they engage in absurd adventures while trying to avoid and confuse the Ganma Army, Special Corps, and even the Shinsengumi, all of whom seek to uncover Rotarou's true secret and take him away.
