Synopsis
In an era where a global network connects the world and information networks have reached their peak development, two parallel realities coexist: the physical world and the virtual realm called "wired." Toru Soma is a member of the hacking group Steppen Wolf, skillfully navigating the digital landscape. Their final mission targets the UN forces' database, but during the operation, Toru's comrade and team leader Nonomura Yuya is lost. After being captured by the military, Toru is forced to work for an anti-hacker unit—the first division of the UN Security Force Information Administration Bureau—in exchange for his release. In his new role, Toru searches for Yuya's killer while the other Steppen Wolf members pursue their own reasons for fighting. Amid the ongoing conflict between terrorists, security corporations, and military forces, various incidents initially seem disconnected. However, these events gradually converge toward a single outcome, as if guided by an invisible force.
