The Flying House

Synopsis

The story opens during a game of hide-and-seek, with young Justin Casey (Gen) finishing his count and setting out to find his friends Angela (usually called "Angie") and Corkey Roberts (Kanna and Tsukubo Natsuyama). While Justin searched the wooded area for the brother and sister, a storm suddenly rolled in. He managed to sneak up on the pair just before the rain began to fall, forcing all three to scramble for shelter. They eventually came across a house in the woods that Justin insisted he had never seen before. Upon entering, the house seemed empty at first, but they soon discovered a robot named Solar Ion Robot (Kadenchin), or SIR for short. Not long after, they met the owner of the house, Professor Humphrey Bumble (Dr. Tokio Taimu), who showed the children his greatest invention: a time machine. The Professor's attempt to recreate Benjamin Franklin's famous lightning experiment—using a kite flying outside the house to power the machine—only resulted in SIR's personality temporarily changing before the entire house was sent hurtling into the past. The children had no idea how long their journey home would take, thanks to Professor Bumble's mistakes and miscalculations in time travel, but in the meantime they witnessed and took part in (with little or no consequences) numerous events from the Bible's New Testament, ranging from the birth of John the Baptist to the rise of the Apostle Paul.
