Synopsis

Continues the story of Armitage III

In the year 2046, Detective Ross Sylibus gets reassigned to Mars following the murder of a country singer on her flight. The case grows complicated because the victim turns out to be a "Third," a robot that looks and acts just like a human. Sylibus partners with Armitage, a strikingly attractive and headstrong female officer. Together, they investigate the deaths of the singer and other women on Mars, eventually uncovering a conspiracy that threatens their lives at the hands of Martian officials.

In the time following their initial encounter, Naomi Armitage and Ross Syllabus have built a life together as a family, preserving an ordinary existence while concealing their genuine Robot natures because of social convictions that Robots do not deserve parity with humans. Ross is presented with a chance to change these perspectives through a ballot on Earth, yet secret groups are maneuvering to obstruct this advancement.
