Synopsis

In 1969, Tokyo shines as a symbol of technological, scientific, and industrial progress—an exciting time indeed. But beneath this surface lurks a hidden menace: Invaders have infiltrated society, their motives and identities unknown. Only the secret organization AEGIS recognizes their existence and fights a covert war against them. Victory in this struggle requires the ability to open "Gates" to other dimensions. Within AEGIS, a special unit called the Gate Keepers exists, composed of extraordinary individuals blessed with unique Gate abilities. These Gate Keepers stand as humanity's final defense against the merciless Invaders. Shun Ukiya leads an ordinary life as a high school student, living with his single mother and younger sister. One evening, on his way home, Shun encounters a group of Invaders heading toward his house. Desperately trying to protect his family, he unexpectedly awakens his latent power to open a Gate and unleash immense energy. This new ability soon catches the attention of AEGIS, especially that of Shun’s childhood friend Ruriko Ikusawa, who is herself a member of the Gate Keepers.
