Synopsis
A century after the devastating Invertia incident weakened world governments and allowed the Integrated Empire Foundation to rise, a new type of human known as Genestella appeared, possessing incredible powers. These gifted individuals attend prestigious academies to battle in public tournaments called Festas. Ayato Amagiri enters Seidoukan Academy on a scholarship, an institution currently struggling. When he inadvertently catches Julis-Alexia von Riessfeld, the Witch of Resplendent Flames, in an embarrassing moment, she demands a duel. Although the fight never happens, Ayato declares he has no desire to join Festas, as his main objective is locating his missing sister. Yet, as a dark conspiracy begins to emerge, Ayato is compelled to fight for his life against some of the most powerful Genestella in the world.
Background
The release of the Gakusen Toshi Asterisk anime series was first announced at an American anime convention called SakuraCon. It adapts the first three volumes of its light novel source material. Gakusen Toshi Asterisk was simulcast in North America by Crunchyroll and Funimation.
