Synopsis
High winds stir the clouds, and wild weeds flourish. During the Zhen Guan era of the Tang Dynasty, Nie Yinniang, the ten-year-old daughter of a general, is betrothed to her cousin Tian Ji’an. She is kidnapped by a nun who trains her in martial arts in remote mountains. Three years pass, and Nie Yinniang becomes a skilled master. Yet her long-suppressed humanity hinders her from becoming a flawless assassin. Another two years go by; Nie Yinniang and her nun master duel with swords in a moonlit bamboo forest, both blindfolded. This test could conclude Nie Yinniang's apprenticeship, or mark the beginning of another long and bitter journey.
