Meiken Lassie

Synopsis

John is a bright and lively boy living in a small coal-mining town in England. One day, he discovers a tiny dog wandering alone among a flock of sheep. He brings the pup home and names her Lassie. Soon, the two grow incredibly close, bonding like true siblings. Lassie is a sweet and clever dog, and she quickly becomes a beloved figure around town. However, their happy days come to an abrupt end when the coal-mine owner shuts down the operation, saying the mine has run dry. John goes to see him and asks for another survey of the mine. The owner agrees, but in return, he takes Lassie with him to Scotland. Priscilla, the owner's granddaughter and a good friend of John's, cannot bear to see Lassie locked up in a cage. She opens the cage and lets her go. Lassie then begins a long and grueling journey from Scotland back to the town she calls home.
