Synopsis
A 2023 Chinese animated fantasy film directed by Lu Qi, this feature draws inspiration from the centuries-old Central Asian legend of King Gesar, using stylized CG animation influenced by traditional Tibetan Buddhist thangka paintings. Chori, a young man of divine lineage, is exiled by his own people into a world overrun by demons and monsters. He endures countless trials before returning to save his homeland and fulfill his destiny as a great hero and king.
