

Synopsis
In "Saigo no Kuushuu: Kumagaya," seven-year-old Sachiko loses her immediate family during the firebombings of Tokyo and sets out on a perilous train journey to live with her uncle's family in Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture. The trip is hazardous, as the train comes under aerial attack from enemy aircraft. Upon arrival, Sachiko is warmly welcomed by her uncle and his family. She spends time exploring the beautiful surroundings of Kumagaya with her cousins. However, this peaceful late summer period is short-lived. As World War II nears its end, Kumagaya experiences its final air raid, spreading chaos and fear throughout the city. In the resulting turmoil, Sachiko becomes separated from her family, leading to tragic consequences.
