Synopsis
Drawing inspiration from Roland Barthes' book of the same title, A Lover's Discourse explores the nature of intimate relationships. In a café, a couple attempts to discuss love while playing a game, yet their conversation merely circles the subject without ever reaching its essence. This animated short serves as a 2024 graduate thesis from the Department of Animation at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.
