Shikkoku no Shaga The Animation

Synopsis

During the Edo period of Japan, where Yokai freely wander and endanger human lives, a young aristocrat named Ushiwaka sets off on a journey across these hazardous lands. Along the way, he is ambushed by hostile Yokai and rescued by Shaga, a female Yokai who dreams of ascending to godhood. United, Shaga and Ushiwaka embark on a quest to fight against malevolent Yokai and establish peace between humans and Yokai. Yet, realizing this harmony proves far more difficult than anticipated.
