The insect draws comparisons between the disasters at Hiroshima and Fukushima, raising a fundamental question about the future of our planet. 66 represents the number of years since Hiroshima and Nagasaki were devastated by Little Boy and Fat Man. 3/11 marks the date of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and the subsequent catastrophic tsunami. 4 is the number of reactors releasing radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi plant. 663114 received the Noburou Oofuji Award at the Mainichi Film Awards in February 2012.
