Synopsis
After their village is destroyed by the cruel Taibai Empire, sisters Yin and Ning wander the land searching for safety. Their childhood friend Zhao is enslaved by the Taibai but survives by using his inventive skills to serve the Empire's needs. Fate intervenes when Yin discovers a legendary sword that grants her powerful fighting abilities and summons a mystical mechanical fox spirit named Yun, who is bound to help her. Meanwhile, Zhao forms a connection with a secretive young girl who may hold significant power within the Taibai Empire. As both Zhao and the Fu sisters become increasingly involved in the Empire's quest for dominance, the emerging resistance must combine all their magical and physical strength to change the course of the ongoing war.
Background
Ken En Ken: Aoki Kagayaki is based on the 2004 Taiwanese role-playing game Xuan Yuan Jian Waizhuan: Cang zhi Tao, whose story is set in the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history (approximately 770–476 BC).
