In this installment
The narrative begins in the near future and extends two centuries ahead. Earth's civilization is constrained by the Trisolarans through an advanced technology called Tomoko, which stops fundamental scientific advancement. Nonetheless, humanity strives to progress to prepare for the coming Trisolaran attack and protect their world and culture. On a broader scale, both Trisolaran and human societies act as predators in a dangerous wilderness, each carefully protecting their own existence while posing a threat to the other, locked in a struggle for the survival of their civilizations.
