Synopsis

In 2037, Shibuya, Tokyo, is home to LayereD, a mixed reality platform that brings the internet into the physical world. Using specialized devices, users access augmented reality experiences, turning their creativity into tangible forms and enabling various means of self-expression. Yet, despite its promising features, the system fails to deliver the freedom it was supposed to offer, instead imposing a repressive social order. The Varna Counter mechanism detects and eliminates dangerous creations to maintain a "clean and healthy" LayereD environment. As a result, users constantly monitor each other to comply with these strict regulations, creating a rigid and constrained society.

Background

LayereD Stories 0 game app will end service on January 8, 2019. In-app purchases will discontinue first on December 7, 2018--making the app only a year in service before its discontinuation.
