Synopsis
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of Nerima, where a supposed photon energy catastrophe caused widespread destruction. The truth of this event remains unclear, and few details are known. What remains is the photon research facility tower, a monument standing at the center of the ruined area. Z-chan and Gre-chan reside together in the Shutter District, which extends outward from the tower's base. Their home, dubbed Photon House, is constructed from scavenged materials. The advanced photon energy that once flowed through the region has vanished, and the world is now dominated by Getter Rays descending from outer space. Nevertheless, Z-chan and Gre-chan continue to harness the highly efficient photon energy to power their dwelling.
