Synopsis
More than fifty thousand years ago, the ELFs—short for The Equipment: Living Forms—were created to aid humanity in fighting the Honkai, a force of decay. The experiment succeeded, granting the ELFs consciousness and raising them to a status nearly equal to humans. However, the devastating actions of the Ninth Herrscher nearly wiped them out, casting most of them into the vast Sea of Quanta. In a separate bubble universe, though, the ELFs' story took a different course. There, they coexist peacefully with humans and attend ELF Academy, a special institution where they receive an education much like their human peers. This academy provides a tranquil setting for the diverse personalities among its students, such as Selune's Elegy with her chuunibyou behaviors and Blood Embrace with his "gangster" flair, offering a respite from the harsh realities of the primary universe.

Elf Academy is an anime based on the video game Honkai Impact 3rd by miHoYo. The events in the anime are non-canon to the game.
