Synopsis
48x61 is a short film directed by celebrated filmmaker Rintaro (famous for Astro Boy and Metropolis) for manga artist and director Katsuhiro Otomo (creator of Akira and Mushishi). Produced at Studio Madhouse, the title derives from the ages of its creators at the time—Rintaro was 61, while Otomo was 48. The storyline revolves around a bicycle race between the characters Rintarou and Katsuhiro.
