Giant Gorg

Synopsis

Austral Island sits 2,000 kilometers south of the Samoa archipelago. Its existence has been erased from all official records, prompting Tagami Yu to set out on a voyage to uncover the truth behind this disappearance. He embarked for the island alongside Dr. Waive—a friend of his father—Dr. Waive's daughter Doris, and a man known only as Captain, also a friend of Dr. Waive. During their journey, they came under attack by GAIL, a powerful international conglomerate, and the gangster syndicate Cougar Connection, led by Lady Lynx. Despite the assaults, they succeeded in reaching the island. But soon after landing, a mysterious monster appeared and began attacking them. Just as they resigned themselves to death, a colossal blue robot emerged. It destroyed the monster and saved their lives. Though this entity was far beyond human comprehension, it stirred in Yu a sense of warmth and familiarity. That robot was Giant Gorg, referred to by the island's inhabitants as the "Messenger of the God." Fleeing from the onslaught of GAIL's strike force, Gorg led Yu into the underworld. There, Yu discovered a relic left by aliens and an extraterrestrial being that had awakened after a slumber lasting 30,000 years.
