Deltora Quest

Synopsis

Long ago, Adin was a master blacksmith who forged a belt set with seven powerful gems, each gifted from one of Deltora’s seven tribes. Using the belt’s immense power, Adin thwarted the Shadow Lord’s attempt to conquer the kingdom and became its ruler. Yet Adin knew the Shadow Lord had not been truly defeated. As time passed, the memory of the Shadow Lord faded, and the people of Deltora came to see their monarchy as distant and indifferent. But the Shadow Lord returned, shattering the Belt of Deltora and scattering the seven gems across the land. Jarred, a loyal friend to the young King Endon, helped the king and his family escape the castle as the Shadow Lord seized power, after which they went into hiding. For years, the Shadow Lord ruled Deltora with an iron fist. But hope remained in Lief, Jarred’s son, who had been raised and trained to find the lost gems and restore the Belt of Deltora. With his companions Barda and Jasmine, Lief must face dangerous enemies and fearsome creatures to defeat the Shadow Lord and bring peace back to Deltora.

Deltora Quest is based on Australian author Emily Rodda's book series of the same title. The anime series adapts the first 8 books, which comprises the first series of the saga.
