Synopsis

Continues the story of High Card

When Finn discovers that the orphanage he grew up in is about to shut down because of money troubles, he decides to try his luck at a casino to win enough cash to save it. But while there, he stumbles into a wild scene involving a car chase and a violent shootout, all started by a man holding what seems to be a lucky card. As Finn digs deeper into what really happened, he learns the truth. A set of 52 X-Playing Cards exists, each one carrying incredible power and giving its holder unique superhuman abilities. These cards let people unlock the hidden strength of their inner "buddy." Finn is then brought into High Card, a secret group working for the king of Fourland to track down and collect the scattered cards. Under the cover of being employees at Pinochle, a high-end car company, this team of four players gains a new member in Finn. Together, they take on dangerous missions to find the missing cards. "The key to life lies in having manners, dignity, and the courage to stake your existence." Their mission gets harder with rivals like Who's Who, a competing car company driven by a need to beat Pinochle, and the Klondikes, a feared Mafia family. All of these card-using groups are ready for a big clash, each one moved by their own sense of justice, ambition, or revenge. Are you ready? It's Showdown!!

In this installment

After Finn, a pickpocket, stumbles upon X-Playing Cards—powerful artifacts that grant special abilities—he gets recruited by High Card, a secret organization dedicated to protecting and retrieving those cards. The entire deck has been scattered across the kingdom of Fourland. Working undercover at luxury car manufacturer Pinochle, this team is out to play the most dangerous game of 52 pickup. But they have to collect them before rival automaker Who's Who does!
