Tiger Mask Nisei
タイガーマスク二世
Synopsis
Continues the story of Tiger Mask
Tiger Mask, born Naoto Date, once terrorized American rings as a notoriously brutal heel wrestler. But after coming back to Japan, a chance encounter with a young orphan—a boy who declared he wanted to grow up to be a villain just like Tiger Mask—changed his path. That boy lived in the very same orphanage where Tiger Mask himself had been raised. Unwilling to let the child look up to a villain, Tiger Mask resolved to become a heroic wrestler instead. The chief villain of both the manga and anime is Tiger's Cave, a shadowy syndicate that trained young recruits to become evil heel wrestlers, demanding half of their earnings in return. Tiger Mask had once belonged to that organization under the alias "Yellow Devil," but he severed all ties and chose to give his prize money to the orphanage instead. Enraged by this betrayal, the group's leader dispatched a steady stream of assassins—many of them fellow professional wrestlers—to punish him.
In this installment
Naoto, the previous protagonist of Tiger Mask, died while rescuing a child. The story begins with a new opponent called Outer Space Mask, who forces his way into the ring without representing any wrestling federation. Tatsuo Aku, once an orphan from the children's home, was a fan of Naoto. He puts on his old hero's mask to become the new Tiger Mask.
