Synopsis
Continues the story of God Eater Prologue
Humanity teeters on the edge of annihilation as the "Aragami"—monsters that devour everything in their path—stage an unending assault. The remaining survivors huddle in scattered fortresses. Ordinary weapons prove useless against these creatures, but "Oracle Cell" technology, sourced from the Aragami's own essence, provides a method to destroy them. Yet the Aragami evolve at a godlike speed, steadily building up resistance, and conventional approaches grow futile. As a final gamble to neutralize the threat in Eurasia, the surviving human governments prepare to trigger a nuclear reactor meltdown. This desperate mission receives support from three "God Eaters" sent by Fenrir's Far East Branch, the organization that oversees what remains of Japan. Equipped with sophisticated weapons known as God Arcs—designed to breach Aragami armor and pull out their cores—these elite soldiers may represent humanity's last stand against the Aragami and the looming specter of total extinction.
In this installment
In 2071, humanity stands on the brink of extinction, threatened by the Aragami, monstrous beasts immune to all conventional weaponry. To counter this threat, the Fenrir organization has developed God Eaters, humans infused with Oracle cells who wield God Arcs, the sole arms capable of harming the Aragami. Lenka Utsugi is one such warrior, a New-Type God Eater whose God Arc can shift between a blade and a gun. As an elite member of Fenrir, Lenka must hone his abilities to fulfill his vital mission of eradicating the Aragami. With the monsters multiplying at an alarming rate and the survival of the human race hanging by a thread, the entire species' future now rests entirely on the shoulders of the God Eaters.
