Let's Go Karaoke!

Synopsis

In middle school, Satomi Oka feels let down even though his choir group placed second in a national competition, seeing it as a failure because of his own perceived shortcomings. As graduation nears, so does the end of his time as choir leader. Lost in his own worries, Satomi meets Kyouji Narita, a brash gangster who asks for singing lessons. Every year, Kyouji and his gang take part in a karaoke contest, with the loser getting a tattoo chosen by the boss. To dodge this fate, Kyouji turns to Satomi for help picking a suitable song that fits his voice. Initially reluctant, Satomi eventually gets past his hesitation and joins Kyouji for his karaoke rehearsals. However, it's unclear if this unlikely pair can overcome their personal obstacles or if things will go wrong.

Background

Episodes 1-4 adapt the entirety of the Karaoke Iko! manga. Episode 5 is an anime original addition that aired five weeks after episodes 1-4.
