Synopsis
In Heaven, Yuki's grandparents decree that now that she has reached thirteen, she must descend to an Earth village plagued by bandits and help rescue its inhabitants. Should she fail to accomplish this within a year, she will dissolve into nothing more than the wind. Upon arriving in the village, Yuki becomes friends with a band of orphans whose parents were slain by the bandits and who survive by begging. She astonishes them by managing to tame the wild horse named Blizzard. Yuki plays a key role in rallying both the orphans and local farmers to resist first the feuding bandits and then Goemon, the avaricious lord who rules the area. Yet Yuki's ultimate trial awaits when the angered Demon God residing in the volcano stirs and rises to obliterate those dwelling below.
