Synopsis

After a monster attack destroys her village and leaves her orphaned, young Alicia endures three miserable years in an orphanage before finally running away. Her escape takes a deadly turn, however, when she's violently confronted by an older woman hell-bent on killing her. During their struggle, she comes into contact with a strange crystal that floods her mind with vast knowledge, reshaping her from an innocent child into a cold, calculating strategist. Realizing she was meant to be the protagonist of an otome game—and utterly rejecting that predetermined role—Alicia decides to seize control of her own destiny and grow strong by any means necessary. Armed with her newfound wisdom and aided by a stranger she stumbles upon in the forest, she learns to survive alone in a world far too cruel and unforgiving for someone her age.
